On the Run? Store. An Investment In The
Future.
Customer needs have changed as well
as customer expectations. So we had to take a new
approach. We needed to evaluate our offerings,
operations and opportunities. We needed to listen
to the very soul of the C-store business ? the
customers.
We decided to take a "fresh
sheet of paper" approach. We looked closely at our
competition. We learned from competitors and our
own dealers, distributors and company operators.
And then we enlisted the help of the brightest
minds in the C-store business.
With a
three year study in hand, we made a major
corporate commitment to our future in convenience
retailing -- more than a half-billion dollars over
five years (1998 - 2002) -- and the On the Run
program was born. The program is now available to
qualified Exxon and Mobil branded service station
operators.
Such an investment of time and
money implores us to build a team of leaders. A
world-class system for our customers, our
franchisees and for ExxonMobil. And we're well on
our way. We've built several hundred On the Run
company-operated and franchised stores. A real

for the entire ExxonMobil convenience retailing
